At the 2012 Saskatchewan Open dinner at the Classic Buffet restaurant on Saturday night, March 24, a tradition was resurrected. The annual Carmen Moerike Spirit of Squash trophy was retrieved and presented this year to Vaughn Johnson, for his many and continued contributions to squash, our tournaments, and our squash community in Saskatchewan. Vaughn has been a high-level active player, an experienced and national-calibre official, a tournament referee, a tournament volunteer, a drawmaster and a promoter of the game for many years. His enjoyment of playing the game and his sportsmanship are great examples for us all. We appreciate his contribution to our sport.
